What is it?
ion Color Brilliance™ Semi-Permanent Brights are hi-fashion hair color shades designed to give vivid, boldly intense results. In 20 to 40 minutes ion Color Brilliance™ Brights deposits color on pre-bleached natural or color treated hair. ion Color Brilliance™ Brights can be applied to pre-lightened hair and natural or colored hair.
What makes it special?
  • Brilliantly intense hair color
  • No ammonia or peroxide
  • Formulated in Italy
  • Ready to use

ion Color Brilliance Semi-Permanent Brights Hair Color can be applied two different ways.

1. For the most vibrant result apply to pre-lightened hair. Pre-lighten with Ion Color Brilliance Ammonia Free Powder Lightener (not included) to the desired level of lift. It is important to note that the degree of lift achieved with pre-lightening will directly affect the vibrancy and intensity of the final result. Underlying exposed contributing pigment must be taken into consideration. If the hair is orange or a dark yellow this will contribute to the final color.

To achieve a boldly intense brights color, pre-lighten to the level indicated in the table below for each specific color. After pre-lightening, shampoo with ion Color Defense Shampoo. Dry the hair. Apply chosen brights shade directly on dry hair and process for 20 to 40 minutes depending on the level of color intensity desired. Strand test every 5-10 minutes. Heat is not necessary for processing if the hair has been pre-lightened. After processing, thoroughly rinse and apply ion® Color Brilliance After Color Treatment to close the cuticle and lock the color deep inside the hair.

2. Color shine overlays on natural or color treated hair. Apply brights directly onto natural or color treated dry hair and process for 20 to 40 minutes. For more intense vibrant results, cover the hair with a processing cap and process with heat. Strand test every 5-10 minutes.

After processing is completed, thoroughly rinse and apply ion Color Brilliance After Color Treatment to close the cuticle and lock color deep inside the hair.

ion Color Brilliance Semi-Permanent Brights Hair Color are non-oxidative dyes that can be extremely long lasting and may become permanent. Apply to dry, pre-lighten hair.

Should removal be necessary from hair, it is important to know that lightener may not completely remove Brights from hair. ion Color Corrector is not recommended for removal of Brights. It is designed for permanent and Demi-Permanent color removal.

Always read the product packaging and inserts for complete directions, instructions, and warnings, and make sure to perform both the strand test and the patch test before applying your color.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love it! Beautiful color, stays for a long time, smells pretty good. Since it’s semi permanent it will turn water blue when you shower, but it stops after a month.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Their new formula turns hair green!!!! I bought this product last year and it came out this beautiful lavender that faded to be an icy blonde. However about 3 months ago I purchased it again thinking it would do the same thing boy was I wrong. It came out more of a violet color and then immediately turned to blue and that blue turned to green. So they changed their formula to have blue undertones and it made my hair an awful GREEN that my hairdresser had to bleach out!!!!!! Do not buy this unless you want pale green hair!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from High hopes, sad ending I've been using Arctic Fox for years. I had been mildly annoyed that every 8 weeks I'd have to re-dye my hair. A business associate had recommended Ion, so I thought I'd try the "permanent" purple and emerald. Now, the green may be my own fault. I'm new to greens and maybe I didn't do something right for this supposedly dark emerald green to look like sea foam. Oh well. But the purple. The first night I was ecstatic. It's dark, it's even, it's beautiful. But it pretty much all washed out after 1 wash hahaha. My hair looks like garbage with this fade. I'll just go back to Arctic Fox. Their semi permanent actually lasts. Thanks for wasting $80 for me, Ion.

My hair has been super dry and a very rough texture ever since I used this product. Am I the only one that has had this problem. I have dyed my hair different box dyes for 15 years and never had this problem. Only ion.

Asked by: Jilligan
We are sorry to hear you are experiencing dryness, not a common issue with Semi Color. Depending on how light the hair is pre-lightened to prior may impact the condition of the hair. For a one on one consultation we are happy to help at 800-859-3112!

Can u use developer with ion color brilliance semi permanent creme hair color red

Asked by: Micheleaaa152
No, do not mix with developer/peroxide. If you want to dilute the colour you can mix with a white conditioner instead

is the purple dye supposed to start out white

Asked by: gjguytrfr
No, all the semi colours should come out of the tube the same colour they will be on the hair. If the colour is coming out of the tube I would check if you may have gotten a permanent colour by mistake, packaging error, etc

How many do I need to buy to do my whole hair? My hair can just reach my armpits.

Asked by: Nikki_VV_
Depending on the thickness of your hair I would guess 4-6 boxes for your length

I do not Understand The strand test do you have a write up on that so I’ll know what I’m supposed to be doing once I get the color on

Asked by: Cluke2939
A Strand test is when you take a small section of your hair and apply a small portion of the desired hair color to test the out come of the product on your hair (following the processing instructions). This can help determine if you need to lighten your hair before coloring, or if you really want to color your hair that shade.
