Rated 5 out of 5 by from I went natural Henna and will never go back! First of all, do not listen to the blogs that say to leave it on for 2-3 hours! I made that mistake and my hair came out black, not dark brown!! Next, they lied when they said “semi-permanent”! After a month it’s still black!! However, after having said that, I will definitely continue using this product because my hair feels like spun silk, it conditions and protects your hair, it completely covers my grey, and it is a great value for the money!! I highly recommend this natural alternative above the other more damaging products!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not red! I usually use henna guys brand henna products. But I was looking for something I could grab from the store. I thought wine red would be the closest to the deep red henna guys makes.. no way.. my hair is dark brown with red undertones.. nothing like I wanted..

Rated 1 out of 5 by from CONTAINS PPD and more not remotely natural Not sure why ordinarily trustworthy Sally Beauty permits this product to be marketed as Natural. There is broad scientific agreement that of all the chemicals in hair dye PPD is the most problematic and it is present in quantity in this brand along with a host of other chemicals. Because people leave henna on for hours and sometimes overnight (plus apply it hot or warm) percentage of toxins absorbed is apt to be even higher than typical box colors which are washed out in 25 minutes. I hope Sally switches to a brand that contains nothing but henna, indigo and hair nutrients. please be sure that if you buy this brand anyway that you actually do the patch test.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Hard to apply I bought this today as an alternative to the regular box dye I've been doing for years. I bought two boxes because one box will not cover shoulder length hair. The boxes are small. The cost was $18 with tax, triple what I usually pay but I thought hey it's a good natural alternative. I mixed it up with water like the pamphlet recommended and made a light paste. I had to add more water than expected in order for the paste to not be too thick. I sectioned my hair out and began on top. The paste dried as I was applying it and made it difficult to comb through to make sure the ends were covered. I found it hard to cover every section. Bottom line is, it's expensive and doesn't go on as easily as regular dyes. The color did turn out nice and shiny, but my hair is super dry and hard to brush without tangles. You will need a deep conditioner after this dye.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from IS AMAZING Sooooooo. I’m not completely stupid when it comes to Henna . The Henna plant is red meaning if the dye is any other color it is in no way shape or form just henna . When the box dye says 100% natural or whatever I don’t believe that due to the fact that the coverage is phenomenal! I had a blonde/light brown hair and my hair is definitely jet black now. No complaints from me here though . My hair looks great.

I use gel to hold my edges down and also have hair moisturizer in my hair. Should I wash my hair before using the Henna?

Asked by: lavender1224
I'm not sure since I don't use those products in my hair but I would shampoo my hair with a little baking soda added to the shampoo to remove those items first and wait until your hair is dry before applying the hair color.

Can I use this product after I perm my hair

Asked by: mscbellard
Yes you can but I would wait at least a week after. I would make sure you have at least one sampoo between also. Perms make your hair absorb color more quickly and you may end up with a really bright or dark shade quickly if you use right after a perm. The perm also makes the color last a lot longer. That is great if you like the color but can be very difficult to correct if you end up with a funky color. Good luck!

I am highly allergic to most hair dyes, would anyone recommend this to use?

Asked by: Willowww
Hey Wishoy22, I unfortunately did try this product. If youre like me, I wouldn't try it. Suffered a major reaction to it for almost three weeks until the dye finally rinsed out. It was not fun.
