Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not 100% Pure Henna Just a heads up to those looking for "henna". This dye does contain henna (lawsonia inermis), but also contains p-Phenylenediamine (PPD) and other ingredients. PPD is a common sensitizer and/or allergen; it's in a lot of hair dyes and is ok for many people, but it's not pure henna and the "100% natural" designation strikes me as a little misleading. Pure henna - or "red" henna - itself is made up of 100% lawsonia as the coloring agent, and no other types of dye (PPD, indigo, etc). The other ingredients this box contains can have different chemical reactions with other hair dyes and products later if you choose to color again. You may still want to buy this product! Just look into what you are choosing and why.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Henna Best Henna Hair Color on the market. I use coffee to mix it as opposed to water and it makes my hair a little deeper brown. Some brown hennas make your hair look purple or red. This Henna actually makes your hair look brown.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great hair I've been using this henna for a few months to dye my naturally red hair dark brown and it works great! It feels soft and healthy and it's a beautiful color. I've been using one part "dark brown" and one part "burgundy" and it makes a pretty dark brown which shines golden-red in the sun.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Most Natural Looking!! I have used MANY henna brands that end up fading into icky green or a flat faded color. I have been using this for the past 2.5 years and will never use anything else. I het the compliment every time I do a refresh that my hair looks so vibrant and healthy!!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Awful! I never used a henna product that has left my hair so dry and unmanageable. I can't even get a comb through it! It doesn't color gray well either. I don't know why there are positive reviews for this product it was terrible!

will the dark brown work on my blonde hair?

Asked by: Aliboo05
I would not recommend using dark brown henna on blonde hair ,since the color may not be what you are expecting. Try using a light brown henna. Dark brown Henna works best on brown hair

Would this be a good color to use on light auburn hair?

Asked by: Ricketspub
It looks like the color on the box may be a lighter shade than your own hair color. In that case you may want to consider lightening your hair first. If your hair is lighter than the color shown on the box it will deposit some color.

Can colors be mixed to create a custom color?

Asked by: Jellybean57
This is not hair dye so do not expect the hair color to stand out much. I use black to cover a few gray hairs I have in the front and apply it to the rest of my hair for the great conditioning properties it has. That’s the area hennas are known for hair thickening and strengthening. The color aspect may be seen for a few days or so in the sunlight.

I bleached my naturally brown hair (it came out to a auburn shade) and used a Semi-purple hue on it. It looks lovely but after a few shampoos, it is washing out very quickly. Could I use henna on my hair once it fades away (in about 1 month)?

Asked by: BeeGurl7
I don't see why not. But then I've never used non-henna coloring. I would think it would especially be no problem if all the other color had faded.,,,
