Rated 5 out of 5 by from In love Was expecting a darker red but I am still in love with the outcome. I had faded hot pin before adding the dye. I left it on for two hours. My hair feels super softer after washing it off so it’s a plus ! Bad thing is it will stain everything more than other dyes. Especially after you run your fingers thru your hair you’ll finger will be red... but red stains can be removed with Clorox. Over all super happy. Manic panic never fails. Btw, I used infra red

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Ultra Violet turned my hair blue and green I added peek a boo purple to my hair, days before my wedding. After 2 days, the purple on top turned pink and the bottom faded to a blue and eventually a blue/green. Its been 3 weeks and it still looks like I added blue and green to my hair, with no signs of purple.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Awful This was the worst hair dye I've used. It never showed up on my hair no matter how much I had put on. I processed it under heat for 10 minutes and it didn't even help.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very good I have dark brown hair with blonde highlights; I bought the ultra violet color and applied it to my highlights and let it sit for over an hour. I LOVED how it came out at first but after a week (and only like 3 washes) it totally faded, It's not as opaque anymore and my blonde hair is starting to show :( I would have to apply it once a week if I wanted the color to stay longer. I super bummed it did'nt last long because I really liked the color.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love the colors! I've been using this stuff in my hair for years....never had issues. A good tip for fading color. Wash your hair in cold water. It holds the color longer. I usually only have to dye my hair maybe once a month.

Do I really need to lighten hair prior to using manic panic? My 10yr old really wants to dye hair but I don't want to lighten her natural dark color hair because it can cause damage to her virgin hair.

Asked by: missyc166
The darker colors will tint dark hair, but it wont be very noticeable. lighter colors wont do much of anything. If you end up lightening her hair, then just trim it out as it grows. Her new hair wont be damaged. I use Vampire red on my dark brown hair and it shows up a dark maroon color, but when I lighten my hair first then it is more true to what the color advertises being. Have fun and good luck!

How do I achieve a silver tone on light blonde hair?

Asked by: VEE12345
Make sure your hair is at the lightest possible.. as close to white without toning. Even a light blonde will most likely require bleaching. Any hint of yellow in the hair can change a lovely silver tone to more greenish because of the blue used to create the grey.  Dye with a silver/grey dye, like ion titanium or manic panic blue steel. I’ve even had the got2b silver box dye work just fine, but it doesn’t stay long.

Do you not sell bad boy blue in the manic panic?

Sadly, Sally's no longer seems to carry the full line of Manic Panic colors. There was a time when they did.

I just used a permanent hair dye a week ago and my hair turned out burgundy but I wanted bright red..can I use manic panic on top to make it more red?

Asked by: Crystalshyne
Yes, manic panic is semi permanent and will just add color on top of it. I recommend getting a disposable shower cap and keeping the dye on your head overnight for the best color results if you're going for a very bright red.

Does this dye require bleaching

Asked by: Daisy2193
It depends on how dark your hair is. If your hair is darker brown, it won’t show up.

Hi! i originally dyed my hair a dark burgundy but its been about 5 months and its now a reddish brown color. I want to dye it after midnight blue, would you recommend i bleach it or just right over it? Also what kind of color itll fade out to?

Asked by: cyndy reyes
I would recommend you bleach it first. When bleaching reds the hair tends to turn an orange shade if not left on long enough (but don’t leave it in for too long). Since you want to use midnight blue which is pretty dark so you should be good if there is still color left on your hair
