Rated 5 out of 5 by from Silver Platinum! I'm so happy that I bought this, I ended up getting one tube of ultra violet and one tube of snow cap and mixed them together to hopefully tone out some of yellow in my hair and give me a silvery-white color. I mixed the two tubes of color with a 25 volume developer instead of a 10. My hair before toning was around a level 10 with some spots being a level 9 for reference, it ended up taking me a long time to do my entire head and while applying it I noticed it turn to a silvery color (which I was fine with). After waiting around 20 minutes I decided to wash it out and the color I was left with was a pretty even silvery platinum color with no hint of yellow, which I was very happy with. Definitely will buy again, might try out the spring blossom and icy white next to see what happens!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very shiny I bought snow cap and icy White. I use them to tone down other toner's to get silver. I love the shine they add and the small Touch of color is great 2 balance the Wella I use

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good toner. This is a good product and does make your hair very white but it has to be very bleached out to get the main effect.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Icy White + 20 vol gets rid of orange and yellow I just wanted to share my experience with the product with others out there who are wondering about this particular toner. First, my hair was light copper blonde a few weeks ago. I did ion color remover, waited a few days, did a lightening treatment with red/gold corrector plus ion step 1 booster and 20 vol, which I left on for only ten minutes. I was almost rid of the copper except for a little bit of orange and yellow here and there. I called ion to ask about which toner to use because I no longer use Wella because of PPD and the strong smell. The very helpful ion lady suggested either snow cap or icy white to get rid of orange and yellow. Since my hair was not bleached white, she suggested that I use 20 volume developer instead of ten to give me a little extra lift. Excellent advice! I mixed icy white with 20 vol. on a 1/2 ratio and let it develop for ten minutes. I was afraid my hair would turn grey if I left if on longer. My hair is now a lovely shade of almost white blonde/ kind of ashy blonde and no more orangey, coppery, yellow tones! For those of you who are not sure about which Bright White toner to use, the ion lady told me this: snow cap has a blue/violet base and icy white has a violet/blue base. Hope that helps!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Hair still VERY yellow I bleached my hair a few days ago. I used this toner after and it didn’t do a thing. My hair looked like Slim Shady... in a bad way. Would t recommend this product at all. In a few weeks I’m going to try Wella and I’m hoping it will work better :,(

I really want to try these toners. However I want to achieve more of a ash blonde instead of silver or platinum any suggestions on which toner to select? Or perhaps I can mix two toners? I tried Wells T18 and T14 but didn’t like the results.

Do a “conditioner bleaching”.  Mix some All Natural 100% Pure Coconut Oil to your hair first as a “barrier” almost. bleach to a Level 9. If you’re passing 50 minutes and you still aren’t developing past a level 7, you will require another bleaching season. You can try toning your hair with 1 part Wella T18, 1 part Wella T14 and 1 part Wella T28 with 6 parts 20 Volume Wella Developer or use Ion Bright White Creme Toner in the color “Ivy White”. It has a blue and purple base so it will void orange and yellow tones. When you want to conteract a color, use the Cosmetologists Color Wheel. Look for the color your hair is showing and the color directly across from it will nuetralize it. After your hair has oxidized and you have applied several masks, treatments, deep conditioners and reconstructors. If you still aren’t a level 9 or platinum. You did not lift enough or had too much lifting to do and the bleach got weak before it could finish processing your hair... hence- you must work quickly. (10-14 days later; Session Two) Apply the Coconut Oil “barrier”; be sure to use a lower volume developer  because this will require less time because you will only be lifting your hair a few more levels. The ideal level for platinum is to reach a Level 9- PERIOD! You will still need to time your hair. The down side to Ion’s creme toner and Wella’s is that you have to tone your hair more often when using the Ion Toner. ALSO, this toner you must use and all over color such as the Ion Brillance creme or liquid permanent hair color as well as Ion’s Sensitive Scalp Creme Developer in Volume 20. —-“Ion Color Brilliance Permanent Hair Color Additive” in the color ASH in a small blue box will give you Ash colored hair and counteract warm tones. The “Ion Color Brillance Permanent Hair Color Additive” in the color VIOLET in a small purple box. The violet intensifier will add more cool tones and remove unwanted warm or yellow tones in your hair.

Shade description or photos of Natural Blonde? I can't find any online. Will it tone out brassiness and lots of red tones?

Asked by: ThatGirlJess
It does tone it really well but it comes out pretty fast I found. You would need to top up every 2 weeks to keep it toned. It does work really well with toning though. Just wish it lasted longer. (I was my hair every few days)

Will this cover brassy highlights

Asked by: Tiffanyannjhnsn
Not by itself. You'll need an anti-red product to mix with it (RedOut).

Can I use a different volume developer...I have 20 & 30....what will happen if I use one of them?

Asked by: Jody1976
Yes you can, but a lot depends on the color of your natural hair is. I have dark sable brown hair and so I use Ion creme lightener and a 40 volume leaving it on my hair for 60 to 90 mins, and I still wind up with some orange, so then I apply Ions Snow Cap Creme toner and a 40 Vol, to achieve a platinum color. I hope this helps. If not do not hesitate to ask more questions
