Rated 5 out of 5 by from Better than expected I was super impressed with this toner it made my hair the exact shade of grey/silver that I was going for.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Mixed Icy White with Lavender Moon- disaster I bleached my hair to a level 8/9/10, 8 being the under the occipital bone to nape of my neck, and it becoming lighter to a 10 on the front crown area. This isn’t my first rodeo, I am familiar with colors and color theory, and while not a professional, I do my own hair all the time and even do it friends and family. So I thought it would look fantastic, a bright silver with a hint of lavender to add dimension. I used both 10 and 20 volumes (equal ratio) mixed together first and added the toners using the recommended 1:2 ratio, and mixing completely. Used a brush to apply, to ensure all hair was covered and saturated. I washed it out after 25-30 minutes, I kept checking on it so it wouldn’t pull too dark. My virgin roots on the top of my head that were bleached evenly root to tip were still bright blonde, and just below to above my ears was bright pastel blue! Down the shaft it was a dull silver, and the back of my head where I was about a level 8/9 was no different than before the toner. I had rinsed it very well, and it felt... tacky? I wrote that off as “hurtin’ hair“ from the lightening process. I walked out of the bathroom and both of my daughters were silent (there’s a first) with shocked looks on their little faces, and rounded the corner and my husband was also at a loss for words! Another first. I immediately thought “Well let’s scrub this mess out!” And shampooed twice, and the blue faded a bit. I let it air dry, and slept on it and my next move. This morning after dropping the girls at school, took the day off from the office and ended up trying the dish soap remedy, but ultimately opted for a Soap Cap/Bleach Bath. I’m now a level 10 all over, and about a small handful of hair lighter, after the stress I put my hair through. I went to Sally’s and talked to the manager, and she agreed that many people have had problems with this particular product. I showed her the pictures of my hair, we had a good chuckle over it, because by then I could laugh at myself for it. She then directed me to a different product, which I am still eying suspiciously... hopefully it results in something that I can enjoy, even though it’s different than my original plan. I will post the pictures I took this morning, they are after the double shampoo results, wish I would have taken one before that, it was quite a sight! I will also post pictures of where I was trying to get to, and the last being what it looks like after removing the toner via bleach bath. If you plan to mix two tones, please seek professional advice from the staff at Sally’s! They may have more insight on the best and worse possible outcomes!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Platinum Lace vs Spring Blossom Platinum lace is nowhere near the swatch. My hair was almost totally white after bleaching my roots. Now it is dark grey. My hair is now really really really dark... I am hoping it fades and I can retone with the spring blossom. Platinum lace is for people wanting grey not blonde....

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Got what I wanted So I was in the process of getting my hair to a nice platinum, all at home. This was the third time I bleached my hair in a span of three months. Is used lavender moon and snow cap with two parts 10 developer. the first few days my hair was a nice light purple grey, and a couple weeks later, my hair is a nice platinum, I love it. Next time I’m mixing Icy white with lavender moon to see the results.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from It does NOTHIN I bought Lavender Moon yesterday. I was pretty excited to try it but unfortunately this stuff doesn’t work. It doesn’t tone the brassy color in my hair. This just make my scalp burn for 15 minutes straight. But the wella toner instead!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from A year ruined I've been growing my hair out for a year trying to go natural. I wanted to tone out some of the brassy old blond I had get rid of that stark line I had going on. This product is straight up bleach I have just wrecked the year of growth I had. Thank you to the consultant at Sally's who just ruined my hair. Many times I told the consultant I did not want a permanent change something that would wash out, I highly doubt this bleach is going to wash away.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Made my white hair gross gray I bought it today, my hair was white, all for my roots which were brassy, so I applied the white toner, snow caps, which in the store advertised turning your hair WHITE, it had white as the hair example. Now my hair is this disgusting ash grey color I hate it so much.

I have dark brown hair with bleached ombre with reds color. The bottom is turning orange..... I bought this to use on my daughters hair but she was to nervous for me to do it. I was wondering how my hair would turn out if I did an all over? Yikes??

If you use any developer that’s higher than a 5 vol it will potentially lift/lighten your hair.  You are better to pick out the pieces you want to tone OR do your whole head with a low volume developer - which will be deposit colour only with no lifting.  I am not a professional, just have learned from experience.

I have blonde hair now but I want more of an icy white look. How can I get my hair to look whiter?

Asked by: Emjokline
Depending on how light your hair is a violet based toner with maybe 10 volume and the usage of a purple shampoo will do the trick. I have platinum blonde hair and use bleach and toner on my roots and everything every few months and I have really minimal damage. You can’t have any yellow or orange or it will show through. The snow cap one is okay, I like to add the violet intensifier sometimes. I prefer other brands personally.

Is this a good toner to take out orange

Asked by: Shygirl1
When I used it, it really didn't help take out that orange/yellow color. To get rid of that, the Wella brand toner with the purple shampoo helps a lot.

I have a level 10-11 blonde hair color would either ice cap or icy White work without have to bleach it I want to end up dying it a pretty purple but don’t want to bleach it.

Asked by: Pollyanna2
I’ve only used snow cap, but my favorite thing about these toners is that they lift as well as depositing cool tones into your hair, so it took my hair from a warm toned light blonde to an icy silvery platinum blonde. So from personal experience, I’d suggest snow cap for what you want to do! However, if your hair is very damaged, I’d suggest going with a toner that just deposits color rather than one that is used with developer.

If I’m dying my hair blond what color toner should I use

Asked by: KylieW04
It depends what shade of blonde you want. That's how toners work. Lavender Moon gives a cool blonde, Spring Blossom is a more golden blonde, etc. Use the numbers on the boxes to look up results and go from there (Lavender Moon is T18, which is the same as the Wella toner that overtones to very purple-grey but I've never accidentally overtoned with Ion).

Asked by: BJACK777
You’ll want something with violet in it to counteract the yellow. Try wella T18 & maintain it with a purple shampoo
