Rated 5 out of 5 by from ion Icy White Crème Toner I've been bleaching and toning my hair, the lightest and whitest I can possibly get, for about 25 years. I had a tube of this toner, which was a few years old, that I came across after a move. I decided, what the heck, and used it. I was pleasantly surprised with the results. I like this toner and have since purchased more. I plan on trying some of the other toners. Thank you, ion, and thank you Sally's.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from So So Toner I used snow cap to tone freshly bleached roots which did okay, but needed a second toning to dull the brassiness. I attempted to dye my hair spring blossom and left it on for roughly 45 minutes, and it did not change the color like I had hoped. My natural hair color is a deep/dark brown and has been lifted to platinum blonde.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This works waayyy better than Wella I haven’t bleached my hair in over 5 months. I have some orange tones and some bright yellow tones. I have used Wella t14, t18, t11, t25, t15 and none of them really do anything for my hair. I decided to try ion since the worker at Sally’s recommended it. I bought snow cap and icy white and used the volume 10. I mixed half and half and little bit more of the snow cap though. I have this beautiful ash blonde now that I was look for! My orange pieces turned a dark dirty ash blonde and my blonde pieces are this beautiful ash white/grey color the pictures don’t do it justice. It’s night time so I have no natural light but it’s beautiful no complaints. The problem with all the bad reviews is they either leave it on waay too long or they have orange hair and expect this to give them white hair, to get the white silver tone you need to be a level 10 or 9. I did my roots/top of my head first since then my ends, my ends sat for 15 minutes and my roots 26. No complaints this will be my new go to!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from “Snow Cap” is more sludge than snow If you’re looking to achieve a vibrant white tone on your platinum hair, avoid the shade ‘Snow Cap”. It came highly recommended by an employee working at my local store and I wish I hadn’t trusted her advice. The result was a dirty gray, as if the pigments in this toner are just diluted ash brown rather than lavender as they should be for counteracting yellow tones. I was having better luck by mixing purple into my CoWash. Additionally, the instructions call for a 1:1 ratio with vol10 developer. If you choose to use it, I suggest the use of liquid instead of cream developer because the resulting mixture was so dense it was difficult to spread evenly. Babysit carefully if you have fine hair- the pigment will take EXTREMELY quickly. I had it in for about 5 minutes before rinsing it out in a panic because it was working too quickly!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best I have used yet. I used the T18 as suggested, but my hair still had an orange look. I had the platinum lace toner in my cabinet that I forgot about and happened to find it. I tried it and it removed all of the orange except for 1 stubborn spot and that was after using it twice. Overall I am very pleased with the outcome and I can hide the orange spot since it is underneath. Hopefully when I do my hair again it will take.

I'm bleaching my friends medium brown hair white with L'Oreal Paris Colorista All Over Bleach but think I'll need toner, Is this a good option?

Asked by: Marie201
I am not familiar with Colorista All over bleach, I use Ions CREME Lightener and I have a deep dark brown (natural) and I use Blonde Brilliance platinium toner to pull more of the brassy look out and it leaves my hair white. I would also suggest your friend use a Keratin shampoo and conditioner to help improve the condition of her hair. It helps give it a nice sheen withoit the heaviness. Just stay away from Shampoos and Conditioners you find in all your regular stores. Shop only at Beauty stores for them as they concentrate on best for hair products,

If i want to get a white color is this a goo toner to use?

Asked by: janer066
No it doesn't stay very long. Literally comes out in like 3 washes. If you want a good toner, go for wella, mix the T10 & T14 with 2O volume.

Which of the ion bright white toners is comparable to the color: natural blonde?  Natural blonde colored toner was allegedly discontinued.

Asked by: good customer
Natural Blonde has been discontinued. The closest comparable is Platinum Lace. Test strand first to ensure desired results!

My hair is a neutral looking blonde. More on the cool blonder side. Not so much yellow blonde. It bleached easily. If I were to add spring blossom to it, what would the turn out be.

Asked by: Cat Coneoiour
Results depend on how light the hair is pre-lightened too, volume of developer mixed (recommended 10 or 20 volume) and processing time. A test strand is a great way to preview your end result!

If I have lowlights ( more brown) and blonde highlights what effect will this toner have on the brown or caramel lowlights?

Asked by: CIDG7454
There is a chance that this toner may bleed thru to yur other lowlights, my suggestion is to foil your hair that you wish to use the ION Toner on, this should prevent any bleeding. Hope this helps

I have between level 9 and level 10 light blonde hair. It has a slight yellow/Orange tint.but only slightly. WHich toner should I buy to have super platinum blonde hair.? Like right between white and silver.

Asked by: Toner help
I have tried both you reference, but for me the best is Spring Blossom to get the Platinum tone. I have yellow gray hair and use this to cut the blue/silver color and look more Platinum blond. I wash my hair daily so this only lasts about 24 shampoos, because it is not permanent

I dyed my hair a boxed burgandy and did not like the results. So i then purchased one of your lightening kits and Icy white toners plus a volume 10 developer. My question is will this give me the salt and pepper results that my hair was originally?

Asked by: DarlaH43
Since You used a box permanent color. Just buy a color remover kit. It will take out all the color you’ve ever put in your hair. And take it back to whatever is underneath. Then you can go from there and re-color it. You might even find your salt and pepper color under there once you remove the hair color. Hope this was helpful I am a cosmetologist

I have naturally dark brown hair. I want to change to light ash brown. My problem is that it turns so red. What toner could I use to calm it down?

Asked by: ShelleyH
Use light ash brown hair dye, then use blue shampoo if you end up with orange or red tones. Start out leaving the shampoo on your hair for a couple of minutes then increase the length of time you leave it on until you determine the proper amount of time for the results your looking for. ( don't want to end up with blue hair, as it can stain your hair if left on too long). I hope this helps. Im not a professional, but I've been dying and bleaching my hair since I'm 15, and I'm a natural redhead, so I've done the get the red out thing for a long time. Was strawberry blonde as a teen then I did enhance my red for about 25 years, then was black for several years, and now I'm platinum ( can't fight the grey anymore lol), and I did it slowly over a year and a half. My point being i do have quite a bit of experience with dying hair and color outcomes working from color theory. Good luck, hope it turns out just as you want it to.
