ion Color Brilliance Intensive Shine Demi Permanent Creme Hair Color is a state-of-the-art European Ionic Formula that is a luxurious, long-lasting, deposit-only hair color without ammonia. This hair color covers and blends gray hair up to 100% without lifting the hair's natural pigment. The formula will allow same-day color with chemical relaxers and permanent waves.

ion Hair Color’s superior quality, proprietary blends are formulated in Italy by our expert team of chemists to deliver unparalleled results. Our unique system combines the finest quality natural and exotic ingredients with powerful high-tech compounds to achieve exquisite, brilliant color with superior gray coverage. ion Hair Color science relies on the power of micro-pigmentation—our microscopic pigment molecules oxidize slower, allowing them to penetrate deep into the cortex of each hair strand for long-lasting, fade-resistant color.

ion's formulas are PPD-free and enriched with Hyaluronic Acid, Argan Oil, Pequi Oil, and botanicals to nourish and strengthen hair from within. Not to mention, ion Hair Color is gentle on hair, containing up to 38% less ammonia than the leading professional brands on the market. Unlock your hair’s true potential with Ion’s cutting-edge, salon-quality color science and bring home vibrancy like never before.

The Ionic formula provides protection for stronger hair structure. ion Color Brilliance Demi Permanent Creme Hair Color contains botanically derived nourishing ingredients with a refreshing fragrance.

  • Select desired shade. Mix 2 oz. of ion Intensive Shine Demi Hair Color with 4 oz. ion Sensitive Scalp Creme Developer 10 Volume in a non-metallic bowl. Mixing ratio is 1:2 unless otherwise noted. All instructions are based on average texture, normal porosity; Fine hair is much more receptive to hair coloring where coarse hair is not.

Use ion Color Brilliance Pre-Color Treatment to help ensure even color results from scalp to ends. A five-minute cool down is recommended if heat is used prior to rinsing. Standard processing time is 10-40 minutes at room temperature and 10-15 minutes with heat. After processing, rinse hair thoroughly until the water runs clear. Shampoo and style as desired.
  • Demi-permanent hair color is the most versatile kind of haircolor, because it lasts much longer than semi-permanent color (up to six weeks). It is sometimes referred to as deposit-only hair color or non-lift deposit-only color, because it’s formulated to deposit (add), but not to lift (lighten) color. Demi-permanent color is ideal for blending or covering gray (up to 100 percent!) and enhancing, deepening, or changing the tone of your natural color. It also adds intense shine.

Always wear gloves. Using a non-metallic bowl or tint bottle, mix 2 oz. of ion Color Brilliance Intensive Shine Demi Permanent Creme Hair Color with either 2 oz. or 4 oz. ion Sensitive Scalp Creme Developer 10 volume. Apply mixture immediately after mixing to dry hair. Do not store mixture; container may burst.

For natural, non-color-treated hair (virgin application):  Apply  formula to the scalp area.  Immediately work through mid-lengths and ends.

For Retouching:  Apply formula to the scalp (new growth) area.  Process for half the recommended processing time, and then work formula through the mid-lengths and ends.  Finish processing. Because 45-50% of color loss is attributed to shampooing, it is imperative to use hair care products formulated for color-treated hair.

Always read the product packaging and inserts for complete directions, instructions, and warnings, and make sure to perform both the strand test and the patch test before applying your color.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from 9NB DISCONTINUED...WITH NO REPLACEMENT, WHAT?! I've used the 9NB for several years and now you've discontinued ALL of the light blonde neutral based Demi Permanent colors. Why? Now, I'm left to mixing a 10 Ash base with an 8 Neutral in hopes of coming close to my original 9NB and not pull too much Ash base. SERIOUSLY NOT HAPPY. Why would a company discontinue a product without adding a alternative replacement? Bad business practices for sure!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Dark, yep! So I purchased 7NA and as most people say, it is dark. More like a medium to dark brown. Nothing as described but for me it’s ok and course it’ll fade. I think it’ll be a better color 2 or 3 washes from now. Gave overall good coverage for my greys and the bleached overgrown highlights I had.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from WAY too dark I have been dyeing my hair on my own for a long time. I can generally predict how a dye will come out based on its level. This “medium blonde” was actually a DARK AUBURN. It’s easily a level 3 or 4 color I have no idea how they could call this blonde. It covered well, and my hair was shiny. The color is not bad, it’s just not AT ALL what was advertised. Be advised.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Turned my hair way too dark Growing out my natural level 7 dirty blonde/light brown hair and I wanted to dye my bleached ends a close color. 7N turned my hair practically black! I'm so upset, should have listened to the other reviews. :(

Rated 5 out of 5 by from You discontinued my hair color?! After using this color for YEARS, it has been discontinued. There are not a lot of demi/semi permanent options available and thanks to this discontinuation, I now have to figure out a new color ONE month before my wedding. Not a happy customer.

I toned my hair with well T-14 and T-18 and my roots are still brassy. Which blonde hair color can I put on it to give me a more even light blonde without making it too dark?

Asked by: Cry_dawn
I just used the 10NA, it turned out great. I suggest leaving it on 15 minutes the first time you use it. If that turns out too light, do 20 minutes the next time. My hair feels soft and wonderful. The color is perfect.

I have been using Ion DEMI Permanent 9G (very light golden blonde) for years. It covered my gray perfectly and didn't lift my dark hair. I am greatly dissatisfied that it is no longer available. I do not want harsgpermanent hair color Suggestions?

Asked by: Whereismy9G
Will be trying 8 with 9 or 10 ash blonde.  Hope the golden in the 8 will make the color  not ashy.  I have always mixed 8 with 9NG and loved the results.

Will a Demi color bleed out as I wash my hair every time and on my pillow or clothing like the product manic panic ??

I've used the demi for several years. It gradually lightens up, but doesn't get on your pillow.

Can I mix colors with this line? I want to mix dark brown with the blue black for a more natural black color.

Asked by: Jammie jam
Yes, I have mixed colors for years.  Not the colors you mentioned. Like all color mixing it takes experimentation.  Also, how colored your hair is from before comes into play.  Go conservative at first.

I have colored jet black hair (my natural is dark brown). I just recently had my hair permanent colored. I want to freshen the color a little but I am more looking for some more shine. Which do you recommend

I use demi 10na with 10 volume developer. It lifts my hair and the color is permanent. It goes a little yellow with some red undertones, which I don't like. Has anyone tried adding toner to the color when processing instead of toning after the color?

Asked by: annambur
Since you shouldn't mix toner with your color you could use a toning shampoo and conditioner if its just a bit too yellow and orange. If your pulling too much red a few drops of red gold color corrector can be added to your formula when its time for doing it again. .

I bleached my hair to what I thought was a level 10 buts it’s very yellow. I used Ion permanent 10v and my hair did not take the color at all. I used 1:1 ratio vol 10 of ion sensitive scalp dev. What do you suggest I use to tone this yellow for an icy?

Asked by: Gablove93
Use a toner, not demi permanent. I use developer 20 with a toner with cool undertones, to get rid of the brassy oranges/yellows

If I want a dirty blonde what color should. Choose?  There are no pictures which is crazy it to show and everyone says go lighter so it’s confusing.

Asked by: Shaz93456
Lat time I commented they didn’t allow my comment. I use a 9n for light ash blonde but have used the 8 which is more like my real dirty blonde hair color.
