Rated 1 out of 5 by from Worse than the semi permanent Seriously lasted one week. I had 3 showers, the semi permanent lasted 3 weeks. Was stoked to see a permanent version but that was disappointing

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Long lasting and vibrant! I don’t know how this product has obtained such bad reviews. I’ve done my daughters’ hair now with nothing but Ion product for the last ten months. We redo her color once every ten weeks or so mainly because of her desire to try try something new, and partially due to the fading. Even when the color fades out, it becomes a very pretty pastel. We use ion bleaching product with the ion color. Her hair is still healthy and undamaged after multiple processes. We use ion color sealer as well as the color protectant shampoo and conditioner. She washes and rinses her hair in cooler water to avoid the color fading faster. I love the ion products.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Read directions! Do not use above a 10 developer with this product if your hair is previously dyed and/or bleached! It will burn and discolor you hair. I used a 20 volume and it killed my hair.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Worst hair dye ever It was suppose to be red. My roots are hot pink and the rest of my hair is dark pink. I'm so upset I've been crying since my hair dried.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from WORST COLOR EVER! I was coloring my manikin for a competition. the manikin's natural hair color was a dirty blonde. I gave the maniquen a lighter lift which made her hair a lighter blonde. ( which is what I wanted.) I put ion permanent color: RED on it and it turned my manikin PURPLE!! thanks so much!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from The worst dye ever Did not even do anything to my hair. I was going blue and I bleached my hair be for hand so it can really get the color but it just made it look greenish brownish. It is just not a dye at all. The money I spent on it is not with it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Color fades It dyed my hair red but the bright red didn’t stay long

what is the processing time and why are there instructions in the box

Asked by: Gaillard
The instructions in the box should tell you the exact processing time. I think I left it on for about 30 minutes.

Can i mix ion midnight blue black with the tanzanite? I was thinking of using a developer 20 bc my hair is not blonde...its on the darkerside

Asked by: Sommer33
Tanzanite itself is very, very dark. Almost black. If you mix it with black, your hair will turn black.

I havent colored my hair in 10 yrs. I want to do 2 colors. 1 in front & 1 in back or top & bottom. I want azure and fuchsia or azure & flamingo. My hair color is light brown. Can I get the desired results in a single process or is double process required

Asked by: Rotten_Kid
It won’t be as bright as it would be on bleached hair but yes I would recommend using a 20 or 30 volume developer to help get some lift the recommended 10 vol is only a color depositing developer I use a 20 volume with the radiant orchid and get a nice dark pink shadow root and bright lengths since most of my hair has been bleached previously

I’m a 1st time user of ion color brilliance tanzanite perm dye.  Can I apply it in a shampoo in method with gloves?  Do I need to use Vaseline around my hairline/neck/ears?

Asked by: Mayhem72
Yes tanzanite was a daark emerald color... greenish tint so id' say it'll tint. And I personally would try it with shampoo but I'm easy going and not a hair specialist

Uh oh! I didn't think I had to mix this dye with toner so I put the dye right on my hair. What will happen?

Asked by: Kristinat1
I mix the flamingo semi-perm tint with conditioner, put on dry hair, wrap in shower cap, leave on my hair for an hour, rinse out and and love the results. I never wash with shampoo, just massage conditioner in scalp and rinse out. Lasts months. (How do I add photo?)

I am currently using Splat on my hair, when I wash my hair the color fades I want something that doesn't wash out or fade.

Asked by: Britt42016
I'm a natural blonde and I use splat midnight on my hair without any bleach and it lasts for a LONG time and even though it fades I wouldn't say it turns a weird color like some dyes it just went from midnight purple to a lavender and eventually it just looked pink.

I have white grey hair naturally ... would I have to bleach first to use this?

Asked by: booklover
I would say no.  I have natural white hair with just a few thing black hairs. I use purple and it is beautiful, intense and lasts for every until the roots grow out.  The back of my head is bleached blonde and this work well there too.

The Azure color just came out of tube white. I did a small area and it did nothing..Why?

Asked by: Jaianna12
The Permanent Brights are oxidative, which means you need to add developer to them. If you read the directions on the box it tells you to mix with a 10 volume developer.
