Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lasting deep color I love this color (TANZANITE). It's a dark royal blue/purple. I use it alone and to tone deep charcoal to help hide some brassiness. The color lasts longer than most blue tones and other Ion permanents I've used - fades at about 4 weeks, but still visible (and I touch my hair up every 1-2 weeks usually)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful color!! I was worried how this would look on top of a burgundy brown color. To my delight it came out a lovely dark purple....I receive compliments all the time....will definitely be using this color again.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Too dark Very dark purple, had to wash it 4X’s a day for 3 days to get it to lighten up. It does stay in. I’m planning on going back to my blonde hair after this ordeal. Didn’t like the color at all. Much darker then shown.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love the colors I've been using tanzenite and radiant orchid for the better part of a year now and i love the 2 together! Beautiful colors! To me even though you can physically see color washing out each time i never see any physical fade in color. On my hair these shades are more permanent than semi. I usually end up redoing my hair only because those pesky roots gets so over grown and i cant stand looking at them any more. Last time i tried tanzenite and purple and was really really disappointed in the purple. I never have bleached my hair before using the color but i decided to this time for the "best" result and the purple just came out as a lighter shade of blue. Blues my favorite color so I wasnt like mad or anything but i was disappointed when it didnt come out purple as expected. The only reason i chose purple this time over radiant orchid was because the color swatch in the store freaked me out because of how bright it was and I was all "wow have i really been putting THIS in my hair?" But i never did get that result it was always the shade of purple i wanted (probably because i didnt bleach first.) Anyways needless to say I'm going back to radiant orchid as I enjoyed that result much better. The colors as you can see are very vibrant and I cant even tell you the amount of compliments i get each day. Everyone loves it :)

Rated 1 out of 5 by from This color is pink, not red. Just used it, so I cannot comment on how long it will last. But it is bright neon pink, not red. Not even close to red.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Beautiful Was lighter than I expected, but still came out looking gorgeous!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I absolutely LOVE it! I truly love this product and recommend it to everyone. I have used both radiant orchid and now the red. Both times, the color came out flawlessly. Radiant Orchid took better to my roots so it was almost and ombre color, but still looked really good and constantly got compliments. I put in red last night after barely lightening my hair anymore and the color came out the exact same root to tip. I've been told (by young children of course) that I look like Ariel. For those saying its coming out of the tube white, use a developer. I use just a 10 volume developer and mix it 1:1 ratio. As the color processes, the actual color comes out.

I had already lightened my hair before when I used a different brand of red dye. I've tried 10 and 20 volume developer before it didn't work so I started using 40 and it lasted longer but do I have to relighten my hair or can I go over what's there?

Asked by: MsKitten
I am in school for hair. Don’t use 40!!!! Your hairs gonna break off! Use 20 vol developer. If you’re going to a color lighter then your own hair, you need to lighten it before you color.

How long is this color suppose to last ?

Asked by: Batgirl2
It stays that way. It will dimm some with washing. Some of the colors are hard to achieve without lightening first.

Do I have mixed the color with develop

Asked by: Ashmi234
the directions are included. Apply on pre-lightened or highlighted hair, 1:1 mixing ratio. Two ounces of color to two ounces of 10 Volume ion Sensitive Scalp Creme Developer. Bowl and brush application is recommended. Always read the product packaging and inserts for complete directions, instructions, and warnings, and make sure to perform both the strand test and the patch test before applying your color. If you have never colored your hair and you want to change your current hair color or you have not colored in 3 months or longer follow these steps: Apply hair color mixture to dry, unwashed hair Work gently through hair as you would a shampoo. Loosely pile hair on top of head Process according to manufacturer’s directions. When processing time is complete, add a small amount of warm water to hair and work into lather Rinse until the water runs clear. If you color your hair every 4-6 weeks with a shade of similar tone and level follow these steps: Make 1/4” partings throughout dry, unwashed hair Apply mixture onto new growth area only, working from the front to the back of your head. Leave color on new growth area for 25 minutes. When processing time is complete, add a small amount of warm water to hair and work into lather Rinse until the water runs clear.

i had virgin hair before i dyed my hair with this product. my question is will my hair go back to my natural blonde? i love the pink but i just miss my natural hair

Asked by: desiraejayne
Permanent dye is--you guessed it--permanent. It will not go back to your natural color until it grows out and you have virgin hair again. If you want a dye that will wash out over a few weeks, use a semi-permanent dye (Ion has a semi-permanent line of Brights) or even a temporary one. Be warned that some semi-permanent dyes do stain a bit so be aware that even those may never wash out completely.

Can I use the red color on dark gray hair? I know it won't be as bright as the swatch but I'm wondering if it's worth using the color at all

Asked by: Mseabie7
In my experience, the color will not be as bold, or last as long on darker hair... having said that, if it's for a temporary change-I say go for it!!

Is this a good long lasting hair dye

Asked by: Maya2001
No it is not. It fades ridiculously fast if you wash your hair ever. Cold or hot water doesn't make a difference.

The permanent fuschia left a very strong smell in my hair, is this normal? Or should I continue to wash it until the smell is gone. I just don’t want it to fade too fast

Asked by: Sohni123
Put conditioner, the more you wash, the more it fades
