  • Permanent, vibrant, and contemporary colors Crème consistency provides easy application Use on pre-lightened or highlighted hair Vegan

ion Hair Color’s superior quality, proprietary blends are formulated in Italy by our expert team of chemists to deliver unparalleled results. ion's unique system combines the finest quality natural and exotic ingredients with powerful high-tech compounds to achieve exquisite, brilliant color with superior gray coverage. ion Hair Color science relies on the power of micro-pigmentation— ion's microscopic pigment molecules oxidize slower, allowing them to penetrate deep into the cortex of each hair strand for long-lasting, fade-resistant color.

Permanent brights provide bold, contemporary color that lasts. Unlock your hair’s true potential with Ion’s cutting-edge, salon-quality color science and bring home vibrancy like never before.

  • Apply on pre-lightened or highlighted hair, 1:1 mixing ratio. Two ounces of color to two ounces of 10 Volume ion Sensitive Scalp Creme Developer. Bowl and brush application is recommended. Always read the product packaging and inserts for complete directions, instructions, and warnings, and make sure to perform both the strand test and the patch test before applying your color.

If you have never colored your hair and you want to change your current hair color or you have not colored in 3 months or longer follow these steps:

    • Apply hair color mixture to dry, unwashed hair
    • Work gently through hair as you would a shampoo. Loosely pile hair on top of head
    • Process according to manufacturer’s directions. When processing time is complete, add a small amount of warm water to hair and work into lather
    • Rinse until the water runs clear.

If you color your hair every 4-6 weeks with a shade of similar tone and level follow these steps:

    • Make 1/4” partings throughout dry, unwashed hair
    • Apply mixture onto new growth area only, working from the front to the back of your head. Leave color on new growth area for 25 minutes. When processing time is complete, add a small amount of warm water to hair and work into lather
    •  Rinse until the water runs clear.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Faded color For a permanent hair color, it was pretty disappointing. It faded very quickly and I only wash my hair once every 5-6 days and use color safe shampoo.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing Hair Dye I bleached my hair to blonde and then put Radiant Orchid on top near the end of May. It is now the beginning of August and my hair is still a beautiful shade of purple. With other dye, my hair only stayed purple for a few weeks and faded. I'm in love with this brand and will definitely use it again to touch up my roots..

Rated 2 out of 5 by from bad color payoff I bought the color flamingos and the color has almost completely washed out in less than two weeks. I thought the permanent dye would last the same if not longer than semi permanent. Definitely stick with semi permanent dye and don't buy this dye in the color flamingos.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not the Color Expected So after searching through all of these reviews, I figured why not give it a try, maybe there was just a bad batch? I purchased the shade Flamingo, used a low volume developer and left the color in for a little longer than recommended, just to see if that was make a difference. It didn't even leave a light pink, but more of an orangey-copper-pink behind. I had lightened my hair beforehand and everything, but this color really wasn't it for me. I'd previously been using the L'Oreal Colorista pink semi permanent color because I LOVE the shade and wanted to opt for something that would stick around much longer, but now I've found myself putting that semi permanent dye back on top and repairing the damage that this color left. Really was hoping for better with this.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Stick with semi permanent Terrible... thought the permanent would work the same as the semi permanent ones.. ofcourse you have to use the developer but it turned my hair blue.. advice to others.. just use the semi permanent... yes you have to apply more but atleast it won’t ruin your hair

Are these like box hair dye or do I need activator and stuff? For the bright colors (like fuchsia)

Asked by: Holly molly
This is just the color dye like any other permanent, professional product. You will have to purchase the developer and any other items to go with it. Depending on your natural color and desired results, you may also have to pre-lighten your hair before coloring. But by far some of the best *permanent* bright color dyes on the market.

When buying this product should I use the same brand developer or could I use another brand?

Asked by: Brooke1994
I've used both the same brand and a different brand. I generally use the same brand. They both get the job done. The different brand I used was a professional brand not at Sally's though....

Can I use ion Garnet over black with red highlights hair

Asked by: Redhotred
I use this on my wigs. I put all sorts of colors on them. I've had a black and rust red and put purple and hot pink on it and it looks great. As far you putting this on your hair I truly can't say for sure.

I only have a 20 del is that okay to use

Asked by: Meganvie25
I use 20 vol developer with this hair color and have even used 30 and never had a problem. The person who said they burned themselves or fried their hair probably used it on hair they had just bleached since you should only use 10 on hair that you have already prelightened to a very light blonde or white. But yes.. you can use 20 and I always use 30 just to make sure any dark spots in my hair lighten to the same color as everything else. They even sell an ion hair color now that is for DARK HAIR to add colors and it specifically requires you to use 30 volume developer with its colors just so you can lighten the hair for the bright colors to show up !!

I have really dark brown hair and want dark blue hair. I was wondering if I bought azure will it come out dark blue if I just applied it without bleaching my hair?

Asked by: Luciana12
If you’re ok with a subtle dark blue, get the sapphire. I have medium-dark brown hair and I use the purple, no pre-lightening - it’s subtle indoors and pops out in the sunlight, so it’s not in-your-face but still obviously purple. I like it!

I only have 20 volume developer can I dilute it with H20 (water) to try & get it closer to being 10 volume developer since that what the directions say to use with the permanent creme color

Asked by: Ammie Rachelle
If you do want to dilute the developer though I've read and seen that you should use conditioner to dilute rather than water.
