  • Permanent, vibrant, and contemporary colors Crème consistency provides easy application Use on pre-lightened or highlighted hair Vegan

ion Hair Color’s superior quality, proprietary blends are formulated in Italy by our expert team of chemists to deliver unparalleled results. ion's unique system combines the finest quality natural and exotic ingredients with powerful high-tech compounds to achieve exquisite, brilliant color with superior gray coverage. ion Hair Color science relies on the power of micro-pigmentation— ion's microscopic pigment molecules oxidize slower, allowing them to penetrate deep into the cortex of each hair strand for long-lasting, fade-resistant color.

Permanent brights provide bold, contemporary color that lasts. Unlock your hair’s true potential with Ion’s cutting-edge, salon-quality color science and bring home vibrancy like never before.

  • Apply on pre-lightened or highlighted hair, 1:1 mixing ratio. Two ounces of color to two ounces of 10 Volume ion Sensitive Scalp Creme Developer. Bowl and brush application is recommended. Always read the product packaging and inserts for complete directions, instructions, and warnings, and make sure to perform both the strand test and the patch test before applying your color.

If you have never colored your hair and you want to change your current hair color or you have not colored in 3 months or longer follow these steps:

    • Apply hair color mixture to dry, unwashed hair
    • Work gently through hair as you would a shampoo. Loosely pile hair on top of head
    • Process according to manufacturer’s directions. When processing time is complete, add a small amount of warm water to hair and work into lather
    • Rinse until the water runs clear.

If you color your hair every 4-6 weeks with a shade of similar tone and level follow these steps:

    • Make 1/4” partings throughout dry, unwashed hair
    • Apply mixture onto new growth area only, working from the front to the back of your head. Leave color on new growth area for 25 minutes. When processing time is complete, add a small amount of warm water to hair and work into lather
    •  Rinse until the water runs clear.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Magenta color I bought this last weekend and it was came out the next day, used all color safe products and when I went outside the sun turned the color orange and then it just went away! Very disappointing color is beautiful but doesn’t last just a waste of money

Rated 1 out of 5 by from wrong color! I purchased the radiant orchid hair color and on the swatch and the box it’s a medium purple, when i put it in my hair however it is a bright pink! I do not like it at all.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best color dye I’ve bought, came back for thirds! So... of course this dye fades after a few weeks of washing, and especially in the sun, but personally is way better and more vibrant than any semipermanent hair color I’ve used, and I’ve used a lot. Even when it fades the color remains pretty consistent, and turns into more pastel which I don’t hate! My hair is dark brown naturally so I have to bleach it first, it does require a developer, which I was surprised to find (they should have that labeled in checkout or something) but luckily I mix my own bleach so I already had some on hand! The color turned out AWESOME and was so happy with how even it felt, and again how vibrant it was! It does a good job adhering to my dark roots as well when they start to grow in and I don’t want to bleach again right away. 100% recommend, until they come out with a legit permanent way to do colors like this, this will be my go to brand!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Do not buy! Terrible! The chemical smell was to strong, kept burning my eyes, nose and throat. Couldn’t even keep it on the full 20/30 mins

Rated 4 out of 5 by from pretty color It lightened quite a bit (the color is still really pretty!) when I went swimming but I do think I used too much developer. I bought it again and am going to give it another try along with two of the other permanent colors and am going to try them too.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Faded color For a permanent hair color, it was pretty disappointing. It faded very quickly and I only wash my hair once every 5-6 days and use color safe shampoo.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent outcome Just dyed my hair after bleaching it first and the end result is awesome.

Would I need to bleach my hair before using this product

Asked by: Vanessa956
Yes if your hair is not blonde, but make sure you do it in sections , for the best results always start with your shaft and ends , scalp must be done last because the scalp gives off heat , but if you choose not bleach you can always use a blonde dye for the same results

Are these like box hair dye or do I need activator and stuff? For the bright colors (like fuchsia)

Asked by: Holly molly
This is just the color dye like any other permanent, professional product. You will have to purchase the developer and any other items to go with it. Depending on your natural color and desired results, you may also have to pre-lighten your hair before coloring. But by far some of the best *permanent* bright color dyes on the market.

Can I use ion Garnet over black with red highlights hair

Asked by: Redhotred
I use this on my wigs. I put all sorts of colors on them. I've had a black and rust red and put purple and hot pink on it and it looks great. As far you putting this on your hair I truly can't say for sure.

I only have a 20 del is that okay to use

Asked by: Meganvie25
I use 20 vol developer with this hair color and have even used 30 and never had a problem. The person who said they burned themselves or fried their hair probably used it on hair they had just bleached since you should only use 10 on hair that you have already prelightened to a very light blonde or white. But yes.. you can use 20 and I always use 30 just to make sure any dark spots in my hair lighten to the same color as everything else. They even sell an ion hair color now that is for DARK HAIR to add colors and it specifically requires you to use 30 volume developer with its colors just so you can lighten the hair for the bright colors to show up !!

I have really dark brown hair and want dark blue hair. I was wondering if I bought azure will it come out dark blue if I just applied it without bleaching my hair?

Asked by: Luciana12
If you’re ok with a subtle dark blue, get the sapphire. I have medium-dark brown hair and I use the purple, no pre-lightening - it’s subtle indoors and pops out in the sunlight, so it’s not in-your-face but still obviously purple. I like it!

I only have 20 volume developer can I dilute it with H20 (water) to try & get it closer to being 10 volume developer since that what the directions say to use with the permanent creme color

Asked by: Ammie Rachelle
If you do want to dilute the developer though I've read and seen that you should use conditioner to dilute rather than water.
