ion Color Brilliance™ Semi-Permanent Brights are hi-fashion hair color shades designed to give vivid, boldly intense results. In 20 to 40 minutes ion Color Brilliance™ Brights deposits color on pre-bleached natural or color treated hair. ion Color Brilliance™ Brights can be applied to pre-lightened hair and natural or colored hair.

  • ion Color Brilliance Semi-Permanent Gemstones Brights can be applied two different ways.

    1. For the most vibrant result apply to pre-lightened hair. Pre-lighten with Ion Color Brilliance Ammonia Free Powder Lightener (not included) to the desired level of lift. It is important to note that the degree of lift achieved with pre-lightening will directly affect the vibrancy and intensity of the final result. Underlying exposed contributing pigment must be taken into consideration. If the hair is orange or a dark yellow this will contribute to the final color.

To achieve a boldly intense brights color, pre-lighten to the level indicated in the table below for each specific color. After pre-lightening, shampoo with ion Color Defense Shampoo. Dry the hair. Apply chosen brights shade directly on dry hair and process for 20 to 40 minutes depending on the level of color intensity desired. Strand test every 5-10 minutes. Heat is not necessary for processing if the hair has been pre-lightened. After processing, thoroughly rinse and apply ion® Color Brilliance After Color Treatment to close the cuticle and lock the color deep inside the hair.

    2. Color shine overlays on natural or color treated hair. Apply brights directly onto natural or color treated dry hair and process for 20 to 40 minutes. For more intense vibrant results, cover the hair with a processing cap and process with heat. Strand test every 5-10 minutes.

After processing is completed, thoroughly rinse and apply ion Color Brilliance After Color Treatment to close the cuticle and lock color deep inside the hair.
  • ion Color Brilliance Semi-Permanent Gemstones Brights are non-oxidative dyes that can be extremely long lasting and may become permanent. Apply to dry, pre-lighten hair.

Should removal be necessary from hair, it is important to know that lightener may not completely remove Brights from hair. ion Color Corrector is not recommended for removal of Brights. It is designed for permanent and Demi-Permanent color removal. Always read the product packaging and inserts for complete directions, instructions, and warnings, and make sure to perform both the strand test and the patch test before applying your color.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Product Perfect color and worked well! I used it on my pre-ligthtened hair straight from the bottle. Easy!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Loved it! The color turned out exactly how I wanted! I was going for a rose gold/strawberry blonde look and went with Rose Quartz. Because you don’t add developer to this, be sure to get enough. I added this to conditioner to dilute it because I was t wanting straight pink, and still used 4 boxes. My hair is to my butt and wavey, so very porous. Some people complained it didn’t work but I think their hair may have been darker, so of course it wouldn’t.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Vibrant and long-lasting! Fantastic, vibrant hair color! Easy to apply, bright results, seems to be lasting well. I've had it in for about 2 weeks and no noticeable fading.

Will this product work after a keratin treatment?

Asked by: choxigurl
I would suggest waiting a couple weeks after the keratin treatment, let the hair shaft absorb that first, it may block the hair shaft from opening to allow the color in to be absorbed, and these are only semiperm colors so chemicals are not as strong to override the thick protective coating the keratin provides. I always give 2 weeks btwn any new hair treatment, to allow one to integrate and process completely b4 applying another. Also full absorption from the keratin will make ur hair stronger and more able to absorb the damaging impacts of color treatments and stay strong and healthy in the process. Hope this helps! Many Blessings

Would this work on black non bleach hair ? I don’t want to bleach my hair to get the blue color I want on my hair

Asked by: Ken22345
All it would do is *maybe* leave a blueish tint to your hair. In order to get a vibrant, or a more noticeable blue, you will need to lighten it. The lighter your hair, the more vibrant the blue will be.

My hair is already this color. But my roots are dark brown. What do I need to do to lighten my roots? and then put this color all over.

Asked by: Hot tamale
I have to bleach my naturally black hair (thank god it lifts quickly), in the pieces around my face that I dye cobalt blue. When I do my roots, I use a smaller 1.5” wise brush for precision, so that I can carefully just paint the bleach to the start of the blue without any overlap. I leave that in for 10 min, then I pull more bleach through the rest of the piece, stopping about 1.5” from the ends (I have 32” hair & I like a subtle ombré). Process another 10-20 min or until your roots are the desired lift. *WIDE brush, not wise. Stupid no editing...

Is 2.5 ounces enough to cover a full head of hair that reaches my shoulders?

Asked by: Sammi123453
No. Mine is just past my shoulders and I use 3-4 depending on color

Will this work on burgandy hair?

Asked by: Njgraham
I have naturally dark (but now graying) hair which I color dark red/ burgundy. As my color was fading and showing my dark and grey roots, I have played around with these colors, mainly the purple and I think, Sky Blue. While it is subtle, which is fine for me, the blue is very dark, like a blue-black, but in the sun you can see it. I picked up a blue hair makeup color from a local drug store to help emphasize the blue, but that washes out. Sally Hanson has a good return policy - just try a color you'd like and test it on a chunk of hair. If it doesn't work, you can usually return the product, or even try swapping for a different color that might work better. Makes it kind of risk-free to play around. (I did not bleach my hair to prep for color, FYI, and still like the result so far.)

will it go back to your natural hair after it washes out ?

Asked by: Sarah_18
If your a natural blonde then yes your hair will eventually go back to your natural color but it really depends on the color you choose. Blues tend to go green eventually then you have to wait for the green to eventually come out... Green is the hardest color to get out of hair whether it be semi or permanent color :/

how long does this last?

Asked by: jprice06
2-6 weeks depending on the color and how you take care of your hair. Silver and purple shades tend to wash out quicker than blues, greens, pinks and reds. It will fade slower if you wash your hair in cooler temperatures and less often. Here's a tip to stretch it, tint your conditioner your desired color and it will last even longer.
