Rated 2 out of 5 by from DOES NOT LAST: Looks terrible on Red Hair I LOVE having colorful hair, so much so that if I don't have it I don't feel right. I wanted to go blue, Ive had it before and i loved it. but this does not work well on red hair or even last. Ive had it in for one week and i shampoo my hair last night and it all washed out. Go out and get a different dye!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Color does not last The color was bright and beautiful.....for 1 day. The hair color was rinsed thouroughly and started coming out the next day. After she took a shower and got dressed, there was pink hair dye all over the back of her white shirt! My daughter was so upset that not only did the color not last longer than 1 day, it also ruined her favorite shirt!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome hair color!♡ So I bought manic panic Purple Haze and Vampire Red and mixed them together. It was my first time ever using this brand. And my hair turned out awesome! I do have dark brown thick Italian hair (thanks mom) so I did bleach my hair before applying the color. The bleach left my hair very dry and frizzy (no duh) which I was expecting. However, I was not expecting the hair color to make my hair feel soft and shiney again. I couldn't believe it. The directions say leave on for half an hour, I put a shower cap over it and let it sit for more than an hour (cause of my thick hair) . The dye that had gotten on my skin came off fairley easy with hot water and toothpaste ( and yes I said toothpaste). A trick I learned from my older sister. If you put toothpaste over the stains and let it sit for ten minutes then scrub is off with hot water the dye comes off. Or you could use petroleum jelly on your skin and the dye won't stain to begin with. I am sold on this brand I loved the way my hair came out!♡

Do you need to use bleach to put this on ur hair I have dark curly?

Asked by: Jojo1979
You don't have to be platinum blonde, my hair is too fine to safely make it that light, but going down a couple levels from dark brown is enough for this dye to look brighter. My hair is medium dark and I have used this dye both straight on my natural color as well as over bleached hair. Itstvery nicely conditioning, not harsh at all is why I always use manic panic for non-natural colors. It will definitely not look like the pictures online or the color of the dye in the bottle if you don't bleach first. It will change your tint, depending on the color you're using, but simply won't show up the same on dark hair. You can see it most in the shine. Like if you're in a dark room, you're hair won't really look different, but if you're in the sun, you'll be able to see the color where it's shiny, if that makes sense. If you use yellow or pink, you won't see any change, same with any pastel color. If you use a dark blue or green it will definitely tint it like I described above. Probably the most color change you'll see is with a red color. But still, it just won't be as bright as it would without any lightening first. But read a lot about bleaching if you're thinking of doing it yourself. It can go horribly wrong either in look, like patchy spots, or in health, like making your hair fall out. I recently used sun-in all over my hair and sat in the sun for a while and it lightened my hair a good bit, not enough to really look blonde but it made it probably a whole level or two lighter on the top layers of my hair. Enough that color would show up more.

I have dark brown hair, do I have to bleach it for this to show?

Asked by: Ava14934
Hi! For the best results on brunette hair without bleaching we recommend our shades in either Vampire Red, Purple Haze, After Midnight, Enchanted Forest, and Green Envy. Results vary from person to person because everyone's hair is different, so regardless of which color you pick, we always recommend doing a strand test to see how the shade will show up on your hair. If you need any extra help please feel free to contact our color experts via email customerservice@manicpanic.com.

I recently dyed my hair a burgundy color and want to dye it purple now but I’m not sure if my hair will capture this color.. what do you guys recommend I should do?

Asked by: Lilo mora
HI Lilo! In order to achieve swatch results and a vibrant shade you apply the color to a clean blonde base. You can use a clarifying shampoo to gradually remove the color if you do not wish to bleach the hair. To see how the color will show up on your hair, we always recommend doing a strand test to see how the shade will show up on your hair before applying to your whole head. For any additional questions, please feel free to email our Color Experts at customerservice@manicpanic.com where we are available to help you 7 days a week!
